PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
-
Polyvinyl
chloride materials are very flexible and will easily conform to the shape of small
and large ponds and waterscapes. Material comes in 20, 30 & 40 mil
thickness in the fish grade blend. Life of material
is 5-7 years for
20 mil and 8-12 years for 30 mil but the product can last several years more.
If you live in a rocky area, it is recommended that you use an
underlayment to protect the pond liner.
LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene)
- Low Density Polyethylene is a semi rigid material that is
used mostly for larger ponds, including farm, fire & mine trailing ponds, lagoons, canal lining,, waste water
treatment, leachate collection, brine, cargo
covers, and interim landfill caps. Excellent protection from UV rays and harsh weather conditions.
No plasticizers
added.
Material has high elongation, tremendous tear resistance and bursting
strength. Minimum carbon black content of 2.5%. Virgin resins.
All panels are accordion folded every 5 feet and tightly rolled on a heavy-duty core for
ease of handling and
time saving installation. Material comes in 20, 30 & 40 mil.
Panels are available in one piece applications up to
50,000 square feet in
20 mil, 33,000 square feet in 30 mil and 25,000 square feet in 40 mil. 20 years is
the average
life.

Polypropylene
Polypro is a more flexible than the LLDPE, but not
as flexible as the PVC. This can be used for large and semi
large ponds. This polypropylene contains no plasticizers that can leach out and hinder
long term flexibility and performance. Outstanding resistance to environmental stress cracking even at elevated
temperatures and in addition to aggressive chemical environments. This product is used
mostly for larger ponds, including lagoons, canal lining, fire, brine, evaporation &
mine trailing ponds, remediation liners, landfill caps, fish hatcheries, golf
course water hazards.
All panels are accordion folded every 5 feet and
tightly rolled on a heavy duty core for ease of handling and time saving installation.
Material comes in 30 & 40 mil. Available in one piece applications up to 33,000
square foot panels in 30 mil and
25,000 square foot panels in 40 mil. 10' Long is the minimum
width available. 20 years is the average life.
- Firestone EPDM PondGard
-
This Firestone Brand EPDM PondGard Rubber lining
material is of the highest quality available on the market today. This
is a specially formulated fish and plant safe material for ponds and water
gardens. This PondGard EPDM stays
flexible in a wide variety of temperatures from –40 F to 175 F enabling it
to be installed year round. This material is a non-crystalline material and
contains no plasticizers that can migrate and lead to premature membrane
failure causing brittleness with aging.
FIRESTONE brand EPDM PondGard Rubber Liner shows outstanding resistance to ultraviolet rays (UV), an important characteristic
especially along the water line of the pond, water garden, or waterscape where the liner is most exposed. High elongation allows for excellent
expansion and contraction performance that enables it to conform to objects in the
Subgrade, allowing it to stretch over objects
dislodged beneath the membrane. This material can be used in small or large ponds. Same day shipping on most orders placed by noon. We stock
this material in 45 mil. 20 years is the average life.
Reinforced Polyethylene
- This
black polyethylene material is a semi- rigid material that is reinforced
by a scrim. The Scrim or mesh is coated with polyethylene on each side. This material
can be used for large or small ponds, landscaping projects, small
lakes, lagoons, etc. This material comes in 8 mil at this time. Other thickness available
in large quantity orders. You can get a very large one piece fabricated liner in this material!

Reinforced Polypropylene
- This
black reinforced polypropylene material is a semi- rigid material that is reinforced
with a scrim. This material has an NSF61 approval rating and can be used for large or medium sized ponds, landscaping projects, small
lakes, lagoons, etc. This material comes in 36 and 45 mil at this time.
Life is 20 years or more. You can get a large one piece fabricated liner
in this material of about 10,000 sq ft on the 45 mil and about 13,000 sq ft
on the 36 mil material.

HDPE (High Density Polypropylene)
- High Density Polyethylene is a more rigid material that is
used for very large ponds, small lakes, lagoons, etc. The best thickness for ponds is 20, 30 or 40 mil. The higher the mil
thickness, the more rigid the material. The average life is 20-50 years
depending on the installation method (i.e.:
covered with sand or dirt).

Geotextile
- Non-Woven
Geotextile is a polypropylene non-woven
soft fabric material that is used for underlayment and on
top of liners to protect the liner (hooves, heavy rock or objects). The
Geotextile Underlayment material comes in 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 oz. The
average life is 20-25
years.
